Statisch draaggetal C0
Wanneer een profielrailgeleiding tijdens de beweging of in stilstand aan overmatig hoge lasten of schokken wordt blootgesteld, ontstaat een lokale blijvende vervorming tussen loopbaan en kogels. Zodra deze blijvende vervorming een bepaalde maat overschrijdt, heeft dit een nadelige invloed op de soepele werking van de geleiding. Het statisch draaggetal komt volgens de definitie ervan overeen met een statische last, die een blijvende vervorming van 0,0001 × kogeldiameter veroorzaakt op het contactpunt dat het sterkst belast wordt. De waarden worden in de tabellen voor iedere profielrailgeleiding aangegeven. Aan de hand van deze tabellen kan de constructeur een geschikte profielrailgeleiding selecteren. De max. statische last, waaraan een profielrailgeleiding wordt blootgesteld, mag het statische draaggetal niet overschrijden.
Permissible static moment M0
The permissible static moment is the moment which, in a defined direction and size, corresponds to the maximum possible load on the moving parts by the basic static load rating. The permissible static moment is defined for linear motion systems for three directions: MX, MY and MZ.
Long-term lubrication unit E2
The long-term lubrication unit extends the relubrication intervals significantly. Depending on the application and ambient conditions this can last for the entire service life. It also significantly reduces the amount of lubricant that is used as only the required amount of lubricant is applied. The compact design and special structure mean that the block can be installed in any position without having an impact on the lubricating effect. The long-term lubrication unit can be used at an ambient temperature of -10°C to +60°C.

Principle of operation of a linear guideway
A linear guideway makes it possible to move in a linear motion with rolling elements. The use of balls and rolls between the rail and block in a linear guideway makes precise linear movements possible.
Displacement resistance depending on lubrication condition
The displacement resistance of a carriage depends on many factors, e.g. load, temperature, lubricant (grease, fluid grease, oil), lubricant quantity, travel speed, series, size or the sealing system. A concrete specification of the displacement resistance is therefore only possible with defined general conditions. An essential factor here is the lubricant and the lubrication condition. Especially in freshly lubricated condition, the displacement resistance is clearly increased. However, after a running-in period of 15 metres, the displacement resistance is reduced again by approx. 50%.

Linear guideway – grease lubrication via lubricating nipple
In the following video, you can see how a lubricating nipple adapter can be mounted on the carriage of a linear guideway. This reduces the effort for lubrication to a minimum. Lubricants basically reduce wear, protect the component from contamination and thus extend the service life. The lubricant is a constructional element and should therefore be taken into consideration when designing a machine. Like any rolling bearing, HIWIN linear guideways also require an adequate supply of lubricant. Both grease and oil lubrication are possible.
Long-term lubrication unit of a linear guideway
The long-term lubrication unit for linear guideways ensures that lubrication intervals can be increased many times over, thus reducing the number of maintenance intervals significantly. Depending on requirements, up to two long-term lubrication units can be mounted on each block.
